Principal's Message

Dear Bulldog Community,

As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, I am excited to extend a warm welcome to all our students, parents, and staff. As the Principal, it is an honor to lead this remarkable institution that provides a well-rounded and enriching educational experience for each and every student.

Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in the range of exceptional programs we offer. This year, we proudly present the following great academic programs:

  1. App Academy: In the App Academy, students learn to code, create their own websites, games, applications, and more. Coding provides students with the chance to express themselves and build creative, meaningful projects that are unique.
  2. Creative Arts, Media, and Design (CAMAD): The CAMAD program is perfect for students who are interested in the world of visual arts and design projects. This four-year program features two specialized disciplines: Visual Arts and Design as well as Graphic Communications Arts.
  3. Law and Public Service (LPS): This dynamic Pathway is a four-year college preparatory program specifically designed for students with an interest in legal, government or public service careers. A distinguishing feature of the curriculum is its integration of forensic science and criminology, law, law enforcement, and social justice.
  4. Mandarin Language Program: This program provides an opportunity for students to engage in consistent practice of the language every day in oral and written form. Courses offered include Mandarin 1-3, AP Chinese Language and Culture and Chines Business and Cinema.
  5. Math Academy: The Math Academy is a Pasadena Unified School District program aimed at radically accelerating the learning curve of its mathematically gifted students by providing a curriculum that matches their abilities. The goal of the Math Academy is to prepare these students to excel in the honors math and science programs at the most elite universities in the world.

In addition to our academic programs, we offer a range of advanced opportunities to enhance student success:

  • Advance Placement (AP): Our 21 AP courses challenge and prepare students for college-level studies, and successful completion can earn them college credits.
  • Dual Enrollment (Pasadena City College): Our partnership with Pasadena City College allows students to earn college credit while in high school, giving them a head start in higher education.

To nurture students' passions and talents beyond the classroom, we offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities, including:

  • Competitive Band, Auxiliary, Choir, Orchestra, Stage Production, Theater: Our performing arts programs celebrate artistic expression and offer students the chance to showcase their talents through captivating performances.
  • Competitive Athletic Programs: Our school takes pride in our athletic programs, which instill a sense of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in our students. Currently we have 39 boy’s and girl’s athletic programs.
  • Clubs/Organizations: There is a menu of clubs and organizations students can be a part of, currently 74.

I am dedicated to ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive and achieve their full potential. Our talented and passionate faculty are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for our students.
