Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Dear Bulldog Community,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! It is with great excitement and optimism that I welcome our students, families, staff, and community back to Pasadena High School. Every new school year brings fresh opportunities, and there has never been a more exciting time to be a Bulldog.

This year, Pasadena High School is experiencing tremendous momentum. Our enrollment has grown by more than 120 students, and we are seeing an increasing number of families choosing Pasadena High School after previously attending private schools. This renewed confidence in our school is a testament to the outstanding work of our dedicated teachers, staff, coaches, counselors, and students, who continue to make Pasadena High School a place where excellence thrives.

Our vision is clear: to make Pasadena High School the premier public high school in the San Gabriel Valley. We are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that prepares every student for success in college, career, and life. From rigorous academics and outstanding arts programs to championship athletics, student leadership opportunities, and comprehensive student supports, Pasadena High School offers something for every student to discover their passion and reach their full potential.

Our commitment to academic excellence continues through our outstanding signature programs:

  • Development and Technology Academy (DATA): Students explore computer programming, software development, networking, information technology, and cybersecurity while developing the skills needed for tomorrow's technology careers.
  • Creative Arts, Media, and Design (CAMAD): A four-year pathway that prepares students for careers in visual arts, graphic design, digital media, and creative industries through hands-on learning experiences.
  • Law and Public Service (LPS): Students interested in law, criminal justice, public safety, and government gain valuable knowledge through engaging coursework in forensic science, criminology, and legal studies.
  • Mandarin Language Program: Students develop fluency in Mandarin through an extensive sequence of courses, including AP Chinese Language and Culture and specialized business and cultural studies.
  • Math Academy: Our accelerated mathematics program challenges high-achieving students and prepares them for advanced university studies in mathematics, engineering, and science. Now through a partnership with Cal Tech Math Academy student have an opportunity to take Dual Enrollment courses on the Cal Tech campus.

In addition to our academies, Pasadena High School offers exceptional opportunities for every student:

  • 23 Advanced Placement (AP) courses that provide rigorous, college-level learning.
  • Dual Enrollment with Pasadena City College, allowing students to earn college credit while still in high school through courses offered both during and after the school day.
  • Award-winning Visual and Performing Arts programs, including Band, Auxiliary, Choir, Orchestra, Musical Theatre, and Stage Production.
  • Thirty-nine athletic teams that promote teamwork, leadership, discipline, and Bulldog pride.
  • More than 70 student clubs and organizations, ensuring every student has opportunities to connect, serve, and lead.

We also remain deeply committed to supporting the whole child. Through our Wellbeing Center, Community School initiative, school psychologists, counselors, and numerous community partnerships, we strive to ensure every student feels safe, connected, and supported both academically and emotionally.

The success of Pasadena High School is built on strong partnerships between our school, our families, and our community. I encourage every family to stay involved, attend school events, communicate with our staff, and celebrate the many accomplishments of our students. Together, we will continue building a school culture that values excellence, integrity, inclusiveness, and opportunity for every Bulldog.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. I look forward to working alongside our students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners as we continue our journey toward making Pasadena High School the premier public high school in the San Gabriel Valley.

Let's make the 2026–2027 school year our best one yet!

Go Bulldogs!
